Heres A First Look At The Characters In Live Action Beauty And The Beast

Due out in cinemas in March 2017, Disney’s latest live action remake is rumoured to be their best yet.

The Beauty and the Beast cast, including Emma Watson and Ian Mckellen, finished filming in August this year – and we haven’t been blessed with a proper trailer yet, just that sneaky little mini preview.

But, fear not, some little sneak peeks at the upcoming remake have been released. This is what Lumiere (Ewan McGregor) and Cogsworth (Ian Mckellen) are going to look like:

And here’s a great insider look into Gaston’s tavern:

But, the most exciting sneak peek of all has to be of Downton Abbey hunk Dan Stevens in Beast mode, but the human version of it:

Josh Gad, who will be playing Le Fou, took to Snaphatto give a snippet of his singing voice:

And Luke Evans, Gaston, also took to Snapchat while on set to say goodbye to castmate Gad:

In September Disney will be releasing a 25th anniversary special edition DVD of Beauty and the Beast, and it will feature a sneak peek into the upcoming live action remake.

Here’s a freeze frame from that preview, showing Luke Evans rehearsing his namesake performance of ‘Gaston’.

People Cant Handle This Weird New Fashion Statement From ASOS

ASOS is a really handy online shop, good for getting everything from your basic white tees, to a flashy sequin jacket for when you’re feeling fancy.

The do this social marketing thing where they pop up with suggestions based on things you’ve been looking at. For me it’s mostly boring stuff, but some people have been getting some pretty crazy suggestions.

ASOS now sells tails. Like fake animal tails, and people are confused.

But, it doesn’t end there.

The ASOS marketing team deserve a real pat on the back, because all of their hard work paid off and that particular tail has sold out. But, don’t cry just yet – it turns out there are a whole line of animal themed tails for us consumers to collect.

There is one tail for every mood/outfit.

This classy fox tail:

This Halloween classic (and a bargain at only 15):

And then there’s the green sparkly version of the chic black original:

Which tail are you going to rock? Let us know in the comments

Here’s some new ‘Beauty and the Beast’ photos you’re welcome

We cannot wait to be Disney’s guest when the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast arrives in theaters in March.

In the meantime, we’ve gotten a very teasing teaser trailer, but so far very little intel on what this whole magical world is actually going to, you know, look like.

Until now, that is.

In new photos posted to his Facebook page over the weekend, Beauty and the Beast co-producer Jack Morrissey has revealed some early images from the forthcoming update to Disneys classic.

First up is a behind-the-scenes look at Dan Stevens (long blonde locks and all) as the Beast/the Prince. It’s taken from a forthcoming sneak peek video, so expect more when Disney drops a 25th anniversary DVD/Blu-ray of 1991’s Beauty and the Beast next month.

Also, Morrissey shared some intoxicating concept art for Lumire (Ewan McGregor) and Cogsworth (Ian McKellen), as well as a first-look photo from the number “Gaston.”

Go ahead and watch the teaser again. You know you want to.

March 17, 2017 can’t get here soon enough.

Drone footage captures the sacred beauty of Uluru for the first time

New drone footage of Uluru and the surrounding Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park has been captured by Ayers Rock Resort, offering a glimpse of Australia’s red centre in a whole new way.

It is the first time a drone has been permitted to operate inside the national park, with special approval being granted by the traditional owners, the Anangu nation, in conjunction with the park’s board.

The sweeping panoramas and detailed close-ups of the ancient landscape are almost more beautiful than words allow. If you lack the ability to visit the heart of Australia, this might just be a decent alternative.

Aaliyah: fashion originator of athleisure and health goth

The late singers fashion style, from midriff-bearing androgyny to grunge, was big in the 90s and is booming right now

When someones style is described as timeless, its a rather flat, eye-rolling description. You think of the likes of Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn, whose fashion has been picked over so endlessly that it has become a meaningless byword for taste.

Its tempting to use that word to describe Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash 15 years ago this week. In fact, it might be more accurate to say that her fashion sense was deeply prescient. Her short career from 1994 to 2001 saw her pioneer trends that have become woven into the fabric of 2016s fashion vocabulary. Unlike Madonna or Bowie, she wasnt chameleonic about her reinventions: they felt organic and gradual. She incorporated elements of previous styles into her next looks, not a fashion 360 but a natural evolution.

Aaliyah

The look on her debut album, 1994s Age Aint Nothing But A Number, glowed with multiple meanings. She was the shy but feisty girl next door. The clothes she wore were a mix of the tomboy (boxer shorts, vests, Timberland boots) and homegirl-ish (wraparound shades, bandanas). It presaged athleisure in the way she mixed sportswear with more everyday items. Heavily logoed clothes meshed with denim (baggy jeans, dungarees), and she bridged the gap between off the track/court and the street. It was fresh from the basketball court chic.

Gigi Hadids recent collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger drew very heavily from Aaliyahs own collaboration with the brand in 1996, featuring bra-tops worn with wide-legged Hilfiger trousers. That was around the time of her second album, One In A Million, where her look incorporated leather and lots of black with sportswear. She basically invented the health-goth look that is influencing labels from Ivy Park to Alexander Wang. In Lil Kims video for Crush On You, she wears an oversize Hilfiger jacket in Sonic-the-Hedgehog blue and high-vis yellow, which feels very current (see Cara Delevingne on the cover of Vogues September issue with an oversize Balenciaga jacket the jacket of next season).

By the time of her final album, Aaliyah, in 2001, there was a look of monochrome sophistication about her. She incorporated Sades less-is-more style but also, as in the We Need A Resolution video, lots of black sheer and subtle cut-outs, nodding to past looks but also elegantly transitioning from her previous looks.

As with fashion, her influence on pop culture is as current as ever (Drake has a tattoo of her on his back, Beyonc posted a throwback Instagram) and its tempting to wonder what her style would have been in 2016.

Community Post: If Women’s Magazines Existed Hundreds Of Years Ago

1. Women’s magazines tell us how to dress, who to love, and what to put on our faces.

It all started with a periodical called The Lady’s Mercury, which was first published in 1693 and promised to respond to “all the most nice and curious questions concerning love, marriage, behavior, dress and humor of the female sex, whether virgins, wives or widows.” The life advice gleaned from magazines like Cosmopolitan and Glamour is never “one-size fits all” but you’ve probably drawn inspiration from them for a new haircut or followed a tutorial on winged eyeliner.

But what if they existed even earlier than 1693 and were written by women (because let’s face it, the first lady magazines were written by men). What beauty advice would these hallowed pages hold? Let’s explore.

2. Crocodile Dung Skin Treatment

Do you have bad skin? Are wrinkles weighing you down? Is your face plagued by an onslaught of adult acne? Well then, why not enjoy a luxurious crocodile dung bath? Favored by ancient Greeks and Romans, these body-toning mud baths are filled with fresh crocodile dung and are designed to invigorate the senses. You can even PUT THE FECES ON YOUR FACE for a refreshing anti-aging face mask.

3. White Lead Face Makeup

It’s the Age of Lightening-ment and pale skin is in! Look wealthier in seconds with ghostly pale skin, because no one wants to be confused for a day laborer (so taboo!). Our treatment powder of white lead, calcium carbonate and hydroxide can be used all over your body, and will ensure a white, almost translucent complexion.

4. Cosmetic Controlled Bleeding

If white lead facials aren’t working for you, we have the solution! To get that near-death paleness of true beauty, drain the color from your body one drop at a time! Controlled bleeding will hastily lighten the color of your skin, and you’ll be fashionably pale in no time! Have a ball or important party to attend? Let it bleed!

5. Deadly Nightshade Eye Makeup

For eyes that really pop with their own, inner glow, take some deadly nightshade and smear it around your peepers. The poison will dilate your pupils and make your eyes look enormous! Another delicious poison that will keep you looking beautiful is arsenic. Eat some arsenic, my dear reader, for an angelic glow much like the light emitted from a golden halo. The poison, used in the 19th century, gave its imbibers glowing skin while it coursed through their veins.

6. Foot Binding

Do you have big, adult-sized feet? Nothing is less attractive than adult feet. BABY feet are in! Although it might be too late for your hideous, mannish feet, it’s not too late for your daughters. Starting between the ages of 4 and 7, foot binding prevents feet from growing to a freakish adult size. Just break all the toes on each foot, except the big toes, and then bind them in binding cloth as tightly as possible. As your daughters grow, their feet will remain blessedly small, attracting suitors from near and far!

7. Tapeworm Diet

Are you FAT? Like “I ate savory scones smothered in cheese all day” fat? Well, that simply won’t do. The latest diet fad comes to you from England, and is so easy to follow that you can still eat all the disgustingly fat foods that you want! Beauty starts from the inside out with the tapeworm diet! These pills are packed with tapeworm larvae that are just waiting to burst free and take up residence in your stomach. The tapeworm eats up your excess calories, allowing you to maintain a fashionably slim figure!

*A minor surgery is required once the tapeworm expands beyond the limits of your stomach.

**By minor, we actually mean major surgery.

8. Painted Black Teeth

Nothing says “I’m loyal to my husband” like teeth as black as the nighttime sky. Polish your chompers to a deep black obsidian by following these simple steps. First, rub the rind of a pomegranate against your teeth to prime the enamel. The acidity will open the pores in your teeth, allowing more dye to seep through. Second, rub dye made from iron fillings and gallnuts (of the Japanese sumac tree) against your teeth. Repeat as necessary.

9. Portugese Urine Mouthwash

Swill some Portugese guy’s urine for deliciously fresh breath! Romans in ancient Rome didn’t trust their own urine to do the trick, so they imported urine from Portugal. Portugal’s known for its super strong urine full of powerful cleansing agents (*it’s not). The ammonia in urine is actually good for disinfection, but who would want to swill a mouthful of urine? Hopefully no one.

10. Big Hair, Bear Grease, and Beef Lard

Big hair is the ultimate symbol of beauty but don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of hair, it can easily be faked. Back in the day, women wore giant hairpieces constructed from wooden frames and hair that was glued with pastes of bear grease and beef lard. These do’s are so irresistible, you might find some rats munching on them in the middle of the night! Which brings us to wig cages. You should have one if you want to keep your smelly beef hair safe!

Work that beef hair gurl, work it.

The First Photos For Emma Watson’s ‘Beauty And The Beast’ Are Here

Everyone freaked the heck out when the trailer for Emma Watsons live-action Beauty and the Beast movie dropped.

Major feels were going through all of us as we intently watched the beauty unfold on our computer screens.

Beauty and the Beast is one of my all-time favorite Disney Princess movies. So, naturally, Im not exaggerating when I say I got MAJOR chills and started tearing up as the music began to play.

Could anything get more breathtaking than this?! TBH, I really dont think so.

The trailer felt like I was re-living my childhood.

Even though we all have to wait until March 17, 2017 for the movie to come out (FEELS LIKE AN ACTUAL LIFETIME AWAY), hopefully this first look into the live-action film will hype all of us up in the meantime.

Co-producer Jack Morrissey posted this concept art of Cogsworth and Lumire.

UM, badass much?! This concept art is actually sick.

In his Instagram post, Morrissey says,

These designs are close but may not be final.

And heres a B-roll footage shot from the movies Gaston song.

Last but most certainly not least, we have our hunky prince, AKA The Beast, looking super fine.

Hot DAMN.

Wheres our main girl Emma Watson aka Belle at though?! WE NEED MORE PHOTOS.
